Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina Bogota
Colonial elegance in a modern metropolis
VERIFIED LUXURY
We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience goes beyond how your surroundings look — how your visit makes you feel is what you will remember most.
We started in 1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.
Five-Star
These properties deliver an outstanding experience and consistently offer a highly customized level of service.
Four-Star
These are exceptional properties, offering high levels of service and quality of facility to match.
Recommended
These are excellent properties with consistently good service and facilities.

As one of the few colonial hotels in the city, Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina Bogota looks and acts very differently from its contemporary neighbors. Officially recognized as a monument of cultural significance by the Colombian Ministry of Culture, the property possess strong European regal airs and graces inherited from 1946, when the building was designed by Santiago Medina Mejia.
The business sector is particularly well catered for here. With four fully equipped event spaces and the flexibility to host cocktail receptions and mixology classes in suites and the outdoor grounds, the hotel mixes business and pleasure with admirable panache.
If you’re in town for meetings or leisure, you will be drawn to the rustic earth-toned furnishings, spacious suites and sweeping passages that invite you to wind back the clock in style.

Our Inspector's Highlights
- The warm interiors and cozy rooms are a beautiful — and much needed — contrast to Bogota’s corporate-looking landscape.
- Bogota can be a nightmare to navigate, so location really is everything. Fortunately, Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina Bogota just happens to be in Rosales, the city’s most desirable urban district.
- Forget the uninspiring breakfast buffet found in other business hotels. Here you wake to a truly delicious deli bar where you can order fluffy eggs, waffles and pancakes off the menu.
- Don't miss one of the spa's locally inspired body scrubs. Perk up with a Columbian Green Coffee Wrap or wind down with a fragrant Citrus Paradise cellulite reducing treatment.
Things to Know
- Bogota is still considered quite a business-orientated city, so the luxury hotel is busier during the week than it is on weekends.
- Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina Bogota is not to be confused with another local property from the brand, Four Seasons Hotel Bogota, which sits just a few blocks away in the hot Zona T entertainment neighborhood.
- Reserve a suite with a terrace. Having breakfast with a view of Bogota’s staggering mountains is the best way to start the day.
The Rooms
- The Bogota hotel packs a lot into this residential property; a total of 62 rooms fall into seven different categories.
- Handcrafted wooden doors, stunning ceiling beams and antique stained windows are just some of the ancestral charms that make this hotel unique.
- Four Seasons Hotel Casa Medina Bogota uses toiletries from Loto del Sur, a divine organic Colombian brand, in all of its rooms and suites.
The Restaurant
- Castanyoles, the hotel’s signature Mediterranean restaurant and bar, more than holds its own next to the gastronomy-heavy offerings in Zona G.
- So attractive is Castanyoles with its warm colors, Spanish tiles and modern furnishings, that locals break with cultural tradition and come here for lunch even when they are not staying at the hotel.
- Standout dishes include grilled octopus, prosciutto, adn risotto fruitti di mare.
- In true Mediterranean style, Castanyole’s kitchen is open around the clock (6 a.m. to 10 p.m.).
